Maggie Mantus is a recent graduate from Wheaton College, MA with a B.A. in Film and New Media
Studies. While in school, she spent her summers working as the Communications Intern for The
Children’s Trust, a Boston-based nonprofit whose mission is to prevent child abuse in Massachusetts.
While there, she discovered that she could combine her love for social media management and her
passion for helping others through her work. Alongside social media, she also loves writing, editing, and
traveling.
Maggie & ExchangeNation: I don’t consider where I’m from to be especially rural, but I quickly realized
that, to my friends who are from cities like Boston and Providence, I live a pretty rural life. That’s when
the urban/rural divide became apparent to me and I began to understand that it’s even more
pronounced in more rural areas. I’m excited to encourage people from all different backgrounds to
celebrate their differences and to start to bring these communities together.
